Necessary pedantry: It's chupacabras, singular and plural. They suck goats, not a goat. Don't let that stop you from Nick's research into the true origins of the chupacabras. As always Nick is guaranteed to astonish readers with his maverick hypothesis. Farther afield, Jason Offutt picks up where he left off with his Exploring American Monsters series by hoofing into the Great White North. His destination? Nova Scotia to explore Canadian monsters. After Jason's consideration of Nova Scotia's maritime monsters, Nick Redfern chimes in with the question, "Are there Real Lake Monsters Or Creatures Of The Mind?" Consider the film Jaws. The prop shark looked awful so Spielberg avoiding filming it at all costs. Focusing only on the sea, and the reactions of Dreyfus and Scheider, fear and tension were ratched through the roof. Water, fresh and salt, represents the subconscious brimming with of its own mysteries. Maybe I'm not clear enough, but seriously read Nick's latest and consider the possibilities. (CS)
