Started to have experiences again, pretty scared...

Hi there paranormal, I'm a 20 year old male who recently have been getting visits in the night from a ghost, I believe. I used to have a LOT of experiences when I was a kid, and have always had "the gift", which runs in my family, usually skipping one or two generations. This might have something to do with my great-great grandfather being a famous Sami shaman, who communicated a lot with the spirit world, but I digress.

I've always been very scared of my "gift". When I was a kid I was scared to death every time someone called my name, or I felt a presence, so I pushed it to the back of my head, got older, and thought it was all just my overactive imagination (though one particular experience is etched in my mind as "wtf was that", I'll share if it sounds interesting). Anyway these last couple of days I've started to get back to that scared 10-year old.

I live in what used to be an old church, and out of nowhere when I was going to sleep a couple days ago I suddenly felt a male presence. I felt it breath on me first, which I told myself was just the wind, but then I got chills, and I could feel someone standing next to my bed. It didn't feel outright malicious or evil, but it didn't feel as though it was a friendly presence either. I tried to tell it to go away, but it wouldn't listen, and it's still here. It tends to show up between 02-03 am, and I got a blurry mental image of him, before I got too spooked and said "nope" and shushed it away. It felt like an older man, and I feel him standing to the right side of my bed.

Also worth noting is that our cat tends to go apeshit in the middle of the night, which I thought was just him being crazy, but maybe not.

Anyways, what should I do? I feel too scared to use my "gift" (or whatever else you wanna call it) to contact it, so is there some way to get rid of it otherwise? I've been having (more) trouble sleeping since this started and I'm freakin scared, which feels ridiculous as I was a hardcore skeptic just a week ago. I appreciate all help cause this is starting to become a problem.
