So, I've had a natural curiosity of ghosts and ufos and the paranormal all my life, so I'm well aware of EVPs and other such things, however, I've never gone out looking for one.
But, recently, I was filming a prank out in public, where I would drop a fake spider on a string from a tree and get lots of reactions for two or three hours.
It's a very busy setting. Not a street as such, but a big open square in the city centre, during the daytime. The camera is locked down on a tripod with a microphone on top. I'm always stood about three or four feet behind it, off to one side. No one went near my camera.
This strange EVP recording that I've aught sounds like someone is speaking right next to my camera/microphone. It's not words as such. It, to me, sounds like laughing. A very casual laugh from a child.
Something about it is a bit "off". Hard to explain really. Like it's not quite human. I know that sounds sinister, but I don't mean it like that. I'm not trying to say it sounds evil or anything. I just mean, it doesn't sound quite right.
Anyway, if this was a ghost, were they laughing at one of my instances of a prank? Maybe. On the video, the laugh does occur a couple of seconds after I scare someone with my fake spider. Like the child's laugh is slightly delayed from the real-time event.
I don't know what to make of this.
