When my friends and I were in high school (roughly ten years ago), we would visit this haunted area called Charming Forge (it's located in Womelsdorf, Pennsylvania). The mansion on the site is where most of the haunts apparently take place (from what people say) but my endeavors took place around the housing for the Hessian workers (for the forging).
There are two instances that really stuck out to me (the two images below are for each instance).
The first instance occurred when we were walking around one of the abandoned houses. We would ask questions (always courteous and never provoking), seeing if the spirits could give us a sign that they were there. We rarely had any success with this (we heard a woman crying which was terrifying and some tree branches moving which isn't reliable but nothing else). Our success, however, came from the photos we took around the abandoned houses.
The first photo attached occurred right after I said, "If there is anything here, could you please look toward the sound of my voice". The creepy thing is that if you zoom in, it appears like the face is turned around (like someone looking over their shoulder). Just to clarify, this was below the deck of one of the houses.
The second photo took place while we were walking to the fabled mansion that Charming Forge is known for. This encounter actually doesn't pertain to Charming Forge, but what my friend was going through. One of his cousins passed away and my friend felt like he was being watched. He decided to snap a photo beside him because he had this uneasy feeling that someone was there. When we looked at the photos, we saw an outline of the side of a face (some people see it as a face looking forward but I don't).
Two things to keep in mind. This was before the high quality of cell phone cameras. We used Kodak Digital Cameras which don't have the best quality. The second thing is that there was no fog present during both of these photos.
Sadly, many people have been vandalizing Charming Forge over the years and it's nearly impossible to ghost hunt with the fear of cops patrolling the area
