So me and a buddy were Turkey hunting at Kinters Ford I'd say about a year ago and it was just starting to get a little late and we were walking through some talk grass in a field doing some calls every now and then then we started hearing like cat noises kinda like kitten cries from the forest which we were walking on the edge of. We thought this was kinda weird and went in the forest to check it out and we walked around for quite a bit trying to find what was making the noise. But it always seemed to stop when we thought we got a good idea of where it was coming from. We ended up doing that for about a half hour till we gave up. We thought it might be bobcats cubs or mountain lion cubs calling out to their mother and that why they kept stopping when we got to close but we had no idea. So we're out of the forest walking in the tall grass again seeing if we could hear or see any turkeys when we hear the calling/crying again but this time it seemed like the number of them had dubbed. We got slightly freaked out but we had shotguns so we wert to scared. And when we got close to the sound it didn't stop so my buddy will told me to wait at the edge of the forest and he was going to see if he could scare anything out. He didn't but it ended up creeping me out quite a bit. So we thought if there was a possibility that it was cubs of some big cat we didn't really want to have to confront it and we thought the calls or whatever the noises were would scare the turkeys away so we started jogging along the forest to get some place far enough away that the turkeys wouldn't be scared off. But what ever the animals were fallowed us. Which really kinda confused us. And the entire time this is going on the number of animals calling continues to grow. So we decided that we'd set up a few turkey decoys and see if we could lure at least one of what was ever was making the noises out. At around this time the sun was just starting to set. So we get all set up and we sit there for id say about an hour we're both kinda freaked me a little more than him but we have our guns loaded just in case something were to attack. And after about an hour the entire woods in front of us seem to me filled with these animals. I mean it sounded like there was at least 75 if not more of these things out there. And we end up becoming a little in easy because it seemed like a few of what ever they were were getting brave and leaving the forest and coming about a 3rd of the way totes us. But we couldn't see anything because the grass we were walking in was basically up to the middle of our chest. And by this time it starts getting pretty dark I'd say about 45 minutes till it gets dark when we hear this grunt and snort behind us (I forgot to mention we were in some bushes sitting in these hunting chairs I was carried around with us and I'd like to say the bushes were were in were pretty dense but this was also during the fall so there were no leaves on the bushes or anything any way back to the story) and instantly me and him spin around (both loading a shell into the chamber of our guns) and there is literally nothing there I mean this was loud to it was like a bull snorting and getting ready to charge us (there were no cows in this area at least during the time we were there) and that caused us to get really on edge. Now we start standing up looking for what ever made the noise when behind us we hear something really big jump I mean you could feel the weight of it hitting the ground and we turn around just in time to see a shadow disappearing. And for what ever reason we started to chase it but when we get to where it was there was no tracks or anything even indicating it was there. Then we get a call saying it's too dark and to come back to the truck and leave. So we pack up our stuff and start walking towards the truck fallowing the forest and the noises are still fallowing us until we kit basically a right angle in the forest and what ever it was would not continue past that point. What ever it was literally stopped like it hit a wall. But the entire time we're walking back to our car they continue to call out. You might think this is a joke or something but honestly I'm really trying to figure what the hell those things were and if anyone has had that type of experience before I would love any feedback if possible.
