Is this entity after children?

A few months ago my 33 year old sister told me a story about how her and my other sister which is 34 were playing together in their room when they were 10-13 year olds. while they were playing their bedroom door was open and they felt footsteps of someone running across the hall so they looked over and they saw a weird shape that was pitch black with a weird face. it looked at them for a second and then it disappeared. my sister said they shook it off even though i find that hard to believe but maybe they found an explanation at the time. the same day they said my mom came to check on them saying she's going to meet the neighbors for afternoon tea and she went out of the house. the creepy part is that 30 minutes or less my mom came out of her bedroom in a sleeping gown and when they asked if she didn't go to the neighbors house she was confused. also, adding to that the clothes she had when she "went" to the neighbors weren't in her closet. basically, thats the first story. the second story is something my best friend told me. keep in mind my friend doesn't like the paranormal at all and i know she would never lie about something this scary. she has a belief that if you focus on this stuff it might come for you. anyway when she was about 11 (same age as my sisters when that happened to her). she was at her grandmothers house alone in the first floor trying to get some stuff. she said as she was walking when she saw a silhouette of something/someone standing on the dining room table and when she quickly turned to see what it was she said it was something pitch black with a weird face. the same way my sister described it to me. when i tried to ask my sister more information about what it looked like she said it looked exactly like Ryuk from "Death Note". so what i did is i sent a picture of him to my friend and she freaked out. basically, my question is...why did two different people who are 20 years apart see the same exact thing when they were at that age? and also has anyone of you readers seen anything like this? i don't know if this is a demon or a ghost or whatever but i just want an explanation to this.
