Coworker seeing huge spider in the middle of the night

I’m posting this for my coworker as he is confused and a little weirded out why this is happening.

For the last few nights, he has woken up in the middle of the night and sees a huge spider in the corner of the room. And when I say huge, I mean a daddy long legs x100 and it’s crawling up the wall. He wakes up and looks at it and it’s crawling then when he runs to turn on the light, it disappears.

I was telling him it could be sleep paralysis but he said that he’s wide awake and sits up when it happens. Any ideas on what this is??
